Making Modernism

I had a chance to check out the O'Keeffe, Preston, Cossington Smith: Making Modernism exhibition at Art Gallery NSW and other exhibitions there. They are great arts, especially the ones from O'Keeffe, Preston and Cossington Smith.  Rejecting conventional ideas of arts, these artists embraced the use of vivid colours, light, vitality, and optimism under a modernist view. They adored nature, and I adore nature. I adore their still lifes, abstract arts and the use of colours and brush strokes.

I really love this artwork, it's called Implement Blue by Margaret Preston. So the best person in the world bought me a little magnet of this art and I'm very happy to see it on my fridge every day.

This is my lock screen wallpaper.

I also went to Museum of Contemporary Art Australia where they had an exhibition of Jenny Watson. Inspired by punk and feminism, the exhibition is very cute and massive with most of her works were drawn and painted on fabric. You can read the interview of Jenny with i-D about her works here. If you have a chance, please check out Jenny Watson's works. The museum is very enjoyable as well with significant works of many artists.
